After much going back and forth with many of you about your ability to attend the awards meeting, the Board of Directors has passed a resolution to allow for online voting. See the rules below of how this will work.

1. You still must pay your $25 dues and nominate your players by 5pm on Friday, May 14th. Send your nominations of your 5 best players to me and I will post to the survey and forward to Annie Succop, our Awards Chair, who will compile the narratives. Please include in your nominations your school, division and section (at top of page!), the player’s full name, grade year, postion, applicable stats, and no more than 2-3 sentences of explanation of why you are nominating them. Remember, if you don’t nominate, you can still vote, but only if you are a member school (have paid your dues). According to our treasurer, she has received dues from:GCC, BP, Latrobe, NA, SLS, Shaler, McDowell, QV, Lebo, SV, FR, PT, SA, SSA, FC, Knoch, SV, Baldwin, NH, Ellis, and Butler.

We have currently received nominations from: SV, NH, CV, QV, GCC, BP, SA, FR

2. Annie will organize the narratives into one file and send them back out to you by Noon on Saturday, May 15th. The survey will go live on the web by Noon Saturday as well and will be open for at least 24 hours. I will send the link to the email that we have for each school according to the mailing list I use (which comes from the directory).

3. You will have until Noon on Sunday May 16th to cast your vote for your section’s award winners. After that deadline, the survey will time out and the results will be processed. There will be no exceptions on the timeline for voting.

4. All-WPIAL awards will be selected based on the recipients of the All-Section awards and will be in a similar format to the All-Section vote. My goal is to calculate All-Section winners and have them out by Monday, May 17th with voting up and open for another 24 period Monday-Tuesday for All-WPIAL awards, with All-WPIAL winners announced by Wednesday the 19th.

5. Our awards chair will also have access to the results as well as our VP to quell anyone’s concerns about impropriety.

6. Nominations for Coach/Person of the Year are also due by tomorrow at 5pm. There will also be voting online for this award. The narratives will be included as there will be fewer of them to post.
