Coaches Assoc. Updates-Awards Meeting and USL Banquet

Hello all,
As the regular season is winding down, it is time to meet for All-WPIAL awards voting. First, you must pay your $25 dues in order to be able to nominate your players. If you have not paid your dues yet, please contact our treasurer, Adriane LaRussa at larussa@gmail.com ASAP. Our bi-laws are very clear that you cannot nominate your players for the awards if you do not pay your annual dues.
Next, put together nomination information for your 5 best Varsity players. Please provide stats and a brief narrative (1-2 sentences) to explain your rational for nominating each player as well as their field position and grade level. Indicate your division and section as well as school and head coach at the top of your submission. Please limit your nomination information to 1 page. Submit this information to me no later than 5 pm on Thursday, May 13th. I will forward your information to our Awards Chair, Annie Succop who will compile the information and have it returned back to you via email by Saturday morning. Please then review the information and bring it with you to the meeting, where we will conduct the voting process. Remember that you must be present to vote.

The meeting will be either May 22nd or 23rd at the Southland Panera Bread located on 51 South near Century III. The address is: 623 Clairton Boulevard Pittsburgh, PA 15236-3811. I have reserved the back room until 8pm, but hopefully we won’t need that much time. I am asking that all members of the Board plan to attend even if they are not nominating in order to help with logistics.
This year the US Lacrosse Awards Banquet for the girls division will be hosted by the Intrepid Girls Lacrosse Club on Tuesday, June 8th at 5pm at The LeMont Restaurant on Mount Washington in Pittsburgh. Our award winners will be honored that night. Tickets are $30 per person or $290 for a table of 10. Please contact Rachel Cibulas at rcibulas@gmail.com to purchase tickets.

I was remiss in not including information about the Coach/Person of the Year nomination process in my previous email. Please email your nominations to Annie at ansuccop@yahoo.com by Thursday at 5pm also. We have indicated that we will select one winner per division so please indicate the following in your nomination:
1. Division the nominee represents
2. School/member nominating the person
3. Rationale for the nomination. Limit the rationale to 2 paragraphs, please
Each member school has the ability to nominate one person.
Annie will forward the information on the nominees back to you with the other awards info and again, please review and bring with you to the meeting on Sunday at 6pm at Panera Bread at the Southland Plaza on 51 South in Pleasant Hills, PA.
